Arsenal lead chase for French striker

Remy considered top target for Arsenal

Arsenal are considered to be favourites to secure the services of Queens Park Rangers forward Loic Remy in the summer, according to The Mirror.

The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen on reinforcing the club's attacking options in the summer and the former Marseille man is considered as one of the prime targets for the striker's role.

A report from the Mirror claims that Arsenal are hopeful of acquiring the player’s signature by trigger the £8 million release clause in his contract, ahead of Newcastle United, for whom the French star has been plying his trade on a season-long loan deal up to now.

The Emirates looks the likely destination for the 27-year-old for the next campaign, as they would provide him with a great platform to play in the Champions League alongside fellow countrymen in Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo.

Remy has notched up 13 goals in 23 League games this season.
