Jack Rodwell wanted by West Brom

Newly appointed West Brom manager Alan Irvine wants to sign Man City's out of favour midfielder Jack Rodwell.The defensive midfielder has so far struggled to force his way into coach Manuel Pellegrini's first team plans and the player is now rumoured to have shown some interest in a move elsewhere.

WBA are also known to have told City that they would like to sign Rodwell on a permanent deal but a loan transfer could also be acceptable. Alan Irvine, who had been appointed as WBA's new coach just last week, already has swooped to sign Joleon Lescott after the centre back's contract at Man City expired. Rodwell is ready to quit the Etihad Stadium as he looks to kick start his struggling career.
