Bacary Sagna did not leave Arsenal for more money
French full back Bacary Sagna says that he did not leave Arsenal for Man City for money, but rather he preferred a move elsewhere for footballing reasons.
The popular right back agreed a deal to Manchester City a week ago and has told reporters that the deal had nothing to do with money.
Sagna instead insists that he had been on the same contract with Arsenal since 2008.
"All I want to say is I stayed at Arsenal with the same contract since 2008. I never asked for [more] money, so people who think that it's for money, it's not," Sagna quipped.
"I just wanted to change and boost my career, and I think it was about time."
