Liverpool give up in race to sign Alexis Sanchez

Liverpool have apparently given up their efforts to sign Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez as it is understood that the player has his heart set on a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been locked in talks with Barcelona for two weeks and initially talks had hit an impasse but now it is understood that Arsenal have agreed a fee with Barca and are now ready to sit down and talk with Sanchez.

Liverpool will sell Luis Suarez to Barcelona and have agreed a fee to sign Divock Origi from Lille as a replacement as an alternative for their failed plan to acquire Sanchez.
