Liverpool quoted £25 million to sign Dejan Lovren

Southampton are playing hardball with Liverpool over the Anfield side's plan to sign Croatian international centre back Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool have been quoted a £25 million fee for the player.

Lovren had initially attracted the interest of Manchester United and Italian side Juventus but his heart is set on a move to Liverpool instead.

Southampton coach Ronald Koeman has already sold the likes of Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw this summer and thus has money in the bank to spend on new players, so the sale of Lovren and the generation of funds appears to be a low priority for the Dutch boss.
