Liverpool plot move for Man City defender

Liverpool are believed to be keen on signing out-of-favour defender Micah Richards from Manchester City this summer.

The England international, who was previously linked with the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle United, is considering his options during the current transfer window, as he is unlikely to feature on a regular basis for City under manager Manuel Pellegrini next season.

According to The Express, the Reds are considered as favourites to secure the services of 26-year-old, as their competitors have waned interest in the player.

Richards has made just nine league appearances for City over the past two seasons.
