Nice manager claims David Ospina move to Arsenal done
Nice manager Claude Puel has told French reporters that Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina will join Arsenal this summer. The keeper had an impressive World Cup and the Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger is hoping to bring Ospina to the Emirates as his second choice shot stopper.
Ospina will wrap up a move worth around 4.5 million Euros this week and is to do battle with Wojciech Szczesny for the keeper's jersey this season.
"It's confirmed, yes. He's a very good goalkeeper, you saw in the World Cup how important a goalkeeper he is," said Nice manager Claude Puel after a 3-2 friendly win against Brentford.
"It's important for him to try another league, another club and Arsenal is a fantastic club for him. He can take the No.1 jersey at Arsenal because he is very strong.
"It is confirmed for me that he is going, yes. He's good with his feet and his hands. He knows the game very well and is a very good player. It's a good deal for Arsenal."
