Newcastle leading race to sign Wilfried Zaha

Newcastle are in pole position to secure a deal to sign England international winger Wilfried Zaha from Manchester United. United coach Louis van Gaal is ready to let Zaha leave after just one season at Old Trafford.

According to reports, Van Gaal is not impressed with Zaha and has decided that the player can either leave on loan or on a permanent transfer out of the club.

Zaha joined from Crystal Palace for 11 million pounds back in 2013 and has yet to impress at his current club.

Other teams were also in the race to sign Zaha, including his former club Palace, but Newcastle coach Alan Pardew is confident he has already won the race for Zaha's signature.
