Arsenal confident of signing Lisbon star before transfer deadline

Arsenal are reportedly confident of landing the signature of William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon before the conclusion of the transfer window.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Portuguese international in recent weeks, with manager Arsene Wenger keen on adding a holding midfielder to the squad.

According to The Metro, the North London club are likely to have their final offer of around £21.3m accepted by the Primeira Liga giants before the transfer deadline on September 1.
