Chelsea star signs new five-year deal
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has signed a new long-term deal at the club.
The Belgian international, who had spent the past three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, has been given the first-team duties at the West London club at the expense of Petr Cech.
Having had a good start to the Premier League campaign. it was believed that manager Jose Mourinho was keen on tying down the talented shot-stopper to a new long-term contract.
Courtois revealed his delight at signing the contract extension and is now focused on maintaining his form.
"I'm very happy with this new deal, it's really nice to have signed this new contract for five years." He said.
"My future was already sorted but it's nice to know I'm going to be here for another five years and now I can just concentrate on playing games."
The 22-year-old joined the Blues from Genk in the summer of 2011.
