Arsene Wenger calls for star striker to join Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to have contacted French international and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema over a potential switch to the Emirates in January.

The talented striker had been heavily linked with a transfer to the Gunners over the summer, until he penned a new long-term deal at Los Blancos.

However, Benzema is considering his future at the Bernabeu, with manager Carlo Ancelotti preparing an overhaul of the squad during the winter transfer window.

According to The Metro, the Gunners boss has called up the former Lyon star to discuss a move to North London, claiming that he would be offered huge wages to seal the transfer.
