Man Utd to splash cash on Schalke star?

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Schalke star Joel Matip, according to The Mirror.

The Cameroon international caught the eye of several clubs during the World Cup finals, where he scored a goal for his nation against the hosts Brazil.

A report from The Mirror claims that United boss Louis van Gaal could make a move for the 23-year-old in the upcoming transfer window, due to his versatility of playing at either defensive midfield or centre-back.

United are currently 10th in the Premier League table.
