Fiorentina prepare bid for Benteke
Serie A side Fiorentina are reportedly preparing a bid for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke in January.
The Italian club are facing some serious issues upfront with centre forward Giuseppe Rossi and and winger Federico Bernardeschi out with long term injuries, and German international Mario Gomez still to prove his fitness following his return to action this week.
The Lillies are looking towards the Villans’ frontman to present an answer to their attacking woes, according to reports in Italian sports daily Corriere dello Sport.
The Belgian international joined the Premier League outfit from Belgian Pro League side Genk in 2012, and has since then made 67 appearances for the Claret and Blues across all competitions scoring on 34 occasions.
The 23-year-old, who returned to action last month following six months on the side lines due to an injury, is currently serving a three match ban for being controversially red carded during his side’s 2-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
