Liverpool linked with star defender

Liverpool are reportedly planing a late bid for West Ham United defender Winston Reid, according to The Mirror.

The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on bolstering his transfer deadline on February 2, and considers the New Zealand international as his top transfer target.

The Mirror reports that the Merseyside giants will make a bid in the region of £6.5m for the talented full-back, whose existing deal at the Hammers expires at the end of the season.

In addition to this, the Hammers could swoop for Spartak Moscow's Vedran Corluka, should Reid make way before the closure of the current transfer window.
