Mathieu Flamini to leave Arsenal
French midfielder Mathieu Flamini will be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season. The Frenchman's contract at Arsenal will expire on July 1st.
A report from France this morning suggests that Flamini is hoping to make a return to his home country, with links to Lille and Rennes both mentioned. Flamini rejoined Arsenal just under two seasons ago and forced his way into Arsene Wenger's side on a regular basis. The recent emergence of Francis Coquelin has left Flamini's chances of regular first team football somewhat limited for the remainder of this campaign. It is understood that Flamini had been hoping for a year extension to his current deal.
