Stefano Okaka set for Southampton transfer move?
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is to make contact with Sampdoria for their striker Stefano Okaka. The player, who has 1 cap for Italy, will be allowed to leave for a fee of around 7.9 million euros.
The guarantee of European football next year is sure to boost the Saints' profile on the continent and coach Koeman wants to bring in at least four new faces before the start of the new Premier League season.
Okaka has been a player tracked by several English sides, both in the top flight and in the Championship, including West Brom and Crystal Palace. However Southampton are confident that they can persuade Okaka to move to the South Coast. Interestingly, Okaka already has experience in English football, having played one season under England manager Roy Hodgson at Fulham back in 2012.
Okaka scored 4 goals in 34 Serie A games last season.
