Southampton sign Stekelenburg on loan

Southampton have signed Fulham goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg on a season-long loan deal, according to reports.

The Netherlands international has struggled to settle at Craven Cottage since his move from Roma two seasons ago.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman was believed to be keen on signing a new goalkeeper, with Fraser Forster set to spend the first half of the season on the sidelines.

Sky Sports now confirms that Stekelenburg will ply his trade with the South Coast outfit on loan for the 2015/16 Premier League season.
