Dyer deal still on?
Sam Allardyce had announced that he decided to pull the plug on Kieron Dyer's move to West Ham from Newcastle at the last minute because the offer on the table was not good enough for a player of Kieron Dyer's stature. However, it appears a deal could still be on for the former Ipswich midfielder.
When calling on West Ham to make an increased bid for the player, West Ham rejected and the deal had looked to fall through. Allardyce said he was disappointed with Alan Curbishley's comments after the deal had fallen through.
However, West Ham were unimpressed with the £2m price hike and retracted their interest in the player. However, it appears Alan Curbishley will try one more time and will now begin to barter with Newcastle over Kieron's signature.
West Ham already have signed his old teammates Craig Bellamy and Scott Parker this summer, and linking up with Lee Bowyer again was also on the cards. For the meantime, unless West Ham improve their offer, Dyer will be forced to continue his contract at Newcastle this season.
