Christian Benteke to undergo Liverpool medical

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is expected to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of his proposed switch to Anfield.

The Belgian international has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, and the move is expected to be completed once he has a series of medical tests next week.

It is understood that the Merseyside giants plan to use part of the £49m fee received for the transfer of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City in order to trigger Benteke's £32.5m buy-out clause.

The former Genk star scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Villains last season.
