Slaven Bilic plays down Sturridge link
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has dismissed speculation over a possible move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge this month.
The England international has had his fair share of injury troubles in recent years, and this has hampered his playing time in the first-team.
Recent speculation had claimed that the Hammers could make an £18m bid for the 26-year-old, who is said to have angered manager Jurgen Klopp through his lengthy time in the treatment table.
However, Bilic has played down the rumours by citing that it was made up by the media.
"I am not talking about who we want. Daniel Sturridge is a big player and a big name, but that is only paper talk." he told reporters.
Sturridge has made just five league appearances for his side this season.
