Man Utd open Aubameyang talks

Manchester United are apparently considered front-runners to land Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer. The Gabon international has been in prime form for BVB over the past year, and this earned him the African Player of the Year accolade.

The 26-year-old poured cold water to speculation surrounding his future last month by citing his desire to remain at Dortmund for years to come.

However, according to The Mirror, United have not given up on their main target, and are known to have held secret talks with the player's agent regarding a possible summer move.

French sensation Anthony Martial has taken the bulk of the goalscoring burden this season, with club-captain Wayne Rooney struggling to overcome his injury troubles.

United are currently sixth in the Premier League, just a point off the Champions League places.
