Tottenham target Samuel Umtiti

Tottenham Hotspur are pursuing a summer move for highly-rated Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti. The France international has been in fine form for the French outfit despite their average run in the domestic league.

French publication L'Equipe claims that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to bring in a new centre-back to his ranks ahead of the next campaign.

The report adds that Umtiti is the leading name in the shortlist, given his excellent progress at Les Gones in recent seasons.

Spurs are also said to be looking into summer deals for fellow teammate Alexandre Lacazette and Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi.

Umtiti has notched 34 appearances in all competitions for his side this term.
