Juventus close in on Nemanja Matic

Italian champions Juventus are close to wrapping up a £20m deal for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic. The Serbian international has been on the fringes of the first-team at Stamford Bridge.

Matic, 27, played a crucial role in the Blues' title winning campaign last season.

However, he has failed to display a similar showing this term, and has been warming the substitutes' bench for much of the second half of the campaign.

Recent speculation had suggested that the Serbian could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, and according to The Express, it is the Old Lady who are leading the chase for the player's signature.

The Turin giants are known to have held talks with the Blues' hierarchy, and a move is likely to be announced at the end of the season.

Matic has made just three starts for the Blues since March.
