Juventus consider Nemanja Matic swoop

Italian champions Juventus are preparing a bid for unsettled Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic. The Serbian's future is up in the air with the Blues on the search for a new enforcer.

Matic played a key role under former boss Jose Mourinho as the Blues clinched the Premier League title in the 2014/15 season.

However, he failed to replicate a similar showing in the season which followed, and this eventually lead to the club's worst-ever performance in the Roman Abramovich era.

According to The Mirror, the Old Lady are expected to lodge a fresh £17m bid for the player having failed with an initial approach earlier last month.

The 27-year-old will pursue his next move only after knowing of Manchester United's interest in his services.

Mourinho is thought to have held talks with the midfielder before his Red Devils appointment in May.

On the hand, Blues coach Antonio Conte looks to have already found a ready-made replacement in Zenit St.Petersburg star Axel Witsel.
