Alvaro Negredo off to Middlesbrough?

Former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo is reportedly in talks over a temporary move to Middlesbrough. The Spaniard has struggled to prove his credentials since his switch to Valencia in 2014.

Sky Sports News says Boro are in advanced negotiations with Negredo's representatives after Los Che decided to make the player available in the transfer window.

It is added that the loan agreement could be sealed by the end of the week so long as the striker undergoes a series of medical tests and agrees to personal terms.

Negredo was a decent hit in his sole season at the Etihad where he netted 23 goals in all competitions. He has also earned 23 caps for Spain with his last appearance coming in 2013.
