Chelsea, Everton battle for William Carvalho
Chelsea and Everton are set to go head-to-head to secure the services of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho. The 23-year-old played a key role for Portugal as they went on to lift the Euro 2016 crown.
The Portugal international has been long linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal and Chelsea being his main suitors.
According to The Mirror, the Blues are looking into a deal for Carvalho after they failed in their pursuit for Roma's Radja Nainggolan.
On the hand, the Toffees are also on the search for a midfield enforcer with Ronald Koeman given the backing to spend big in the transfer window.
Carvalho, who is valued at £30m, has previously cited his desire to win the Primeira Liga title with Sporting Lisbon.
He currently has four years left on his contract, which was inked in February 2016.
