Yacine Brahimi to undergo Everton medical
Porto winger Yacine Brahimi will undergo a series of medical tests at Goodison Park after Everton agreed on a club-record fee for his signature. The Algerian international will pen a four-year contract with the Merseyside outfit before the transfer deadline.
Brahimi looks set to join the Toffees in the transfer window despite initially holding out for a move to a Champions League club.
Portuguese source O Jogo says the Toffees have settled on a £35m package for the player having initially had a £25.5m offer rebuffed.
Porto will pay about half of the transfer price to a third-party which owe a stake in the player, and this urged them to negotiate a higher sum .
The 26-year-old has been in fine form for the Dragons over the past two seasons, and his presence at Merseyside could help the Toffees earn a European qualification spot come the end of the campaign.
Despite being born in France, Brahimi decided to switch his allegiance to Algeria, where he has earned 28 caps till date.
