Chelsea to rival Man Utd for Griezmann in 2017
Chelsea will offer stiff competition to Manchester United in the pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann next summer. The Frenchman could eye a fresh challenge with Diego Simeone's long-term future in doubt.
Griezmann, who signed a fresh five-year contract earlier this year, had previously cited that he would stay put at Atleti so long as Simeone remains incharge of the club.
However, with reports emerging that Simeone could quit the Capital outfit in 2018, the striker could well be tempted to pursue a dream move to the Premier League.
Mourinho's United have been keeping close tabs on the player's progress over the past year, but according to The Telegraph, the Blues will do their utmost to persuade the player to move to Stamford Bridge next season.
Griezmann was linked with a surprise switch to Arsenal during the summer transfer window but the deal never took off. The France international has netted 57 goals in 108 outings for Atletico Madrid till date.
