Ricardo Rodriguez content at Wolfsburg
Swiss international Ricardo Rodriguez has shrug off his disappointment at missing out on a move to the Premier League. Arsenal and Manchester City had expressed interest in the player, but Wolfsburg opted against his sale.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for the Bundesliga outfit in recent seasons, and there were suggestions he could head to England during the summer transfer window.
However, the Wolves were never interested in offloading their asset, and the left-back has now played down the talk by stating that he was meant to remain at the Volkswagen Arena.
"I guess it was just meant to be this way. God wanted it this way," he was quoted as saying on Blick.
"You just need the right timing for a transfer and it's a fact that during this transfer window, there were hardly any transfers of players in my position."
Rodriguez has appeared for Switzerland at all youth levels, and has earned 41 with the senior squad till date.
