Gareth Barry has no thoughts of retirement
Everton midfielder Gareth Barry that he has no intention of hanging his boots in the near future. The England international is in his fourth season at Goodison Park.
Barry, 35, remains a key player for Toffees this term despite approaching the final years of his career.
When asked on his potential retirement from professional football, the ex-Aston Villa and Manchester City star said that he is yet to make the consideration, and could feature in the Premier League for a couple more years.
“I don't see any reason why not," he told reporters. "I feel as good as I did when I was 30. I'm 35 now, and I don't feel any different."
He added that he regrets not winning a trophy with Aston Villa, and he is hopeful of fulfilling this dream with Everton before calling quits on his career.
Barry is in the final 10 months of his contract at Everton, but he could be offered an extension given he is still a regular under new coach Ronald Koeman.
Everton have made their best start since the 1978/79 season after they accumulated 13 points from their opening five league games.
