Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has identified Tottenham Hotspur's Ben Davies as a potential option to bolster his backline in January. The Welshman was played second fiddle to Danny Rose in the Premier League.
Davies, who plys normally plys his trade at left-back, has excelled in the central defensive position for Wales, and this is said to have caught the eye of Conte.
According to The Sun, the Blues could plot a surprise £20m bid for the 23-year-old, who received some stick during Spurs' surprise defeat to Monaco in the Champions League.
Davies had an awkward debut in the Europe's elite competition as his mistakes eventually cost Spurs dear in a 2-1 loss against Monaco at Wembley.
Nevertheless, he still remains a top-class talent, and Conte will look to add him to his squad in the New Year with John Terry likely to part ways at the end of the campaign.
