Chelsea quoted £50m sum for winter target
Serie A side Lazio will look to fend off interest from Chelsea this winter after they placed a £50m valuation on Stefan di Vrij. The Netherlands international had been one among the top targets for the Blues last summer.
Blues boss Antonio Conte was initially in the hunt to land Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly in the transfer window before Napoli slapped a £57m price tag on his services.
The club had therein stepped up their pursuit for Di Vrij but their advances were turned out with Lazio deeming the player indispensable to the squad.
Speculation earlier suggested the Blues could reigite their interest in the centre-half in 2017 with Conte not entirely satisfied with the signings of David Luiz and Marcos Alonso.
And according to The People, the Biancocelesti are aware of the situation and have decided to demand fees in excess of £50m for their asset.
Benfica star Victor Lindelof is another on the Blues shortlist as they seek to bolster their backline in the New Year.
