Could Bale be set for a Premier League return?

Welsh winger Gareth Bale wants to leave Real Madrid next summer, with a return to the Premier League potentially on the cards, according to reports in Spain.

Diario Gol is reporting that Gareth Bale is ready to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, after three successful years in the Spanish capitol, having twice won the Champions League with Los Blancos.

The 27-year-old moved to Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur for a then world record fee of £85.3 million in 2013, and has been a key player for the eleven time champions of Europe, forming part of the ‘BBC’ attacking trident alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

It has been speculated for a long time that, should Bale decide to leave Real, Manchester United would be at the front of the queue of clubs looking to sign the gifted Welsh winger.

Indeed, United even tried to rival Madrid’s bid for Bale back in 2013, and reportedly offered a higher fee to Spurs, but Bale had already set his heart on a move to the Spanish giants.

So, should Bale genuinely be considering a summer move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, United would likely be willing to break the bank to bring the former Southampton player to Old Trafford.

However, Bale appears settled in Madrid and is currently enjoying the best form of his career, as his influence and importance to the team continues to grow. So a return to England may be a while off at this stage.
