Stephane Sessegnon nearing Burnley move
Former West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland attacker Stephane Sessegnon is close to finalizing a free transfer to Burnley. The 32-year-old has been on the search for a fresh club after he failed to earn a contract extension with the Baggies.
Sean Dyche had confirmed earlier in the month that the Clarets were monitoring the situation of the experienced forward.
Sessegnon, who has previously featured for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, was edging towards a move to Montpellier before the option of joining the Clarets came by at the final minute.
The Benin international is now in advanced negotiations over a contract at Turf Moor, and a formal announcement is likely to be made in the next couple of days.
Sessegnon has racked over 150 appearances in the top flight during his time at Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion.
