Jose Mourinho desperate to land Isco

Jose Mourinho will do what it takes to bring Real Madrid playmaker Isco to Manchester United in January. The Special One is expected to spend big on a couple of quality recruits in the New Year.

The 53-year-old is not fully content with his midfield options at Old Trafford and will be eyeing to bolster the squad further in 2017.

Spanish source AS suggests that Mourinho will make his move for Isco as he has identified the Spaniard as the ideal player to transform his side into potential title challengers.

It is added that any approach for Isco may ring doubts over the future of Wayne Rooney, who was recently benched for the game against Leicester City on Saturday.

Club-captain Rooney has three years left on his contract, but his chances of earning playing time look bleak after a couple of mediocre performances this season.

Serie A side AC Milan are also in the running to land the former Malaga man.
