Man Utd hold secret talks with Gareth Bale's agent
Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit to bring Gareth Bale back to England next summer. Jose Mourinho and vice-chairman Ed Woodward met up with the player's representative last week regarding a potential transfer.
The Wales international is mulling over his future at the Bernabeu with Real Madrid reluctant to offer him the same treatment as Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bale wants to be the highest earner at Real whilst also featuring in the left wing role but this is unlikely to happen with Ronaldo still at the club.
According to Diario Gol, the Mancunian giants are laying foundation to recruit the world-class attacker with the Special One and Woodward having held initial talks with agent Jonathan Barnett.
It is added that Adidas, who sponsor both United and Bale, are also eager to get the deal through for the Welshman.
Bale joined the European champions from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, and has since racked 61 goals in all competitions.
