Leicester failed with Gabbiadini bid
Leicester City had made ambitious attempt to sign Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini in the dying stages of the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old was believed to be the prime target for the Foxes in August before they landed Islam Slimani from Sporting on deadline day.
Italian source Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Premier League holders had made a bid of around £25m for Gabbiadini, but the player was intent on staying put at Naples.
Claudio Ranieri's side followed to spend a club-record £30m sum to recruit Algerian international Slimani just hours before the transfer deadline.
Gabbiadini has started in just three of Napoli's league games this term, but he is set to get an extended run with Arkadiusz Milik having suffered a nasty knee injury on international duty.
