No BvB return for Mkhitaryan
No BvB return for Mkhitaryan
Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has ruled out the possibility of re-signing former star Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the future. The Armenian international left BvB for a switch to Manchester United in the summer.
Mkhitaryan has since struggled to establish himself as a regular at Old Trafford with an injury ruling him out of first-team action last month.
While speaking to Kicker, Watzke suggested that the 27-year-old would not be welcomed back to the Bundesliga outfit having opted his way out against the club's wishes.
The attacker has been deemed fit for the trip to Liverpool later tonight, and he could be a possible starter as Jose Mourinho bids to end his poor streak with Jurgen Klopp.
The Special One has won just one of his last five meetings with Klopp, and this is something he would have to overcome if United are to come with three points at Anfield.
Mkhitaryan last appeared for Manchester United in the 2-1 derby defeat to Manchester City on September 10.
