Reported Manchester United target Fran Villalba has put pen-to-paper on a fresh four-year contract at Valencia.

The Spaniard was recently linked with a move to Manchester United after his agent confirmed discussions with the Red Devils' officials.

However, the teenager was never tempted by a switch to Old Trafford and has now committed his future to Los Che.

"Very satisfied to have renewed for four years with the club of my life," he wrote on Twitter. "I will keep working to play my part for this great club."

The 18-year-old, who is often compared to Manchester City ace David Silva, made his first-team under Gary Neville during the previous campaign.

He turned out four times for Valencia last term, but has yet to make an appearance this season. Villalba has been a regular for Spain at all youth levels, and only time will tell whether he would turn out to be the next 'Silva'.

Valencia have substantially increased the player's buy-out clause which was previously at £3.6m.
