Chelsea will allow midfielder Cesc Fabregas pursue a temporary move away from Stamford Bridge in January. The Spain international has made a solitary league start for the Blues this season.

Fabregas, 29, has struggled to make himself a regular under Antonio Conte this term, and this has spread speculation over his future.

According to The Times, the Blues are prepared to offload the playmaker in the New Year as he is unlikely to regain a starting berth in Conte's 3-4-3 formation.

Fabregas has been nursing a minor niggle during the previous month, and this has seen the likes of N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic solidify their positions in the centre of the park.

The World Cup winner has appeared 102 times for the West London giants since arriving from Barcelona two years ago. He has recently captured the interest of Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
