Ozil scores as Gunners complete comeback

Ludogorets Razgrad 2 Arsenal 3.. A late strike by German international Mesut Ozil saw Arsenal come from two goals behind to defeat Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad

The win in Bulgaria means that Arsene Wenger's side have secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

However, it was the hosts who made a superb start with two goals inside the first 15 minutes at the Vasil Levski Stadium in Sofia. Johnathan Cafu on 12 minutes and moments later Claudiu Keseru struck for the Bulgarian champions. However, Arsenal struck back and narrowed the gap and eventually went in at the break 2-2, Granit Xhaha scored his first Champions League goal which was followed up by a header from French international Oliver Giroud before the break, Then the Gunners completed the comeback in the second half when Ozil finished in style as Arsenal qualified for the knockout stages for the 17th consecutive season.

Wenger speaking pre match said that it was his sides prime target to top the group in the hope of avoiding a tricky tie in the last 16. The French man retained Ozil, Koscielny and Sanchez in his starting team despite having a derby with Tottenham in the coming days. Arsenal were shocked when they fell two goals behind but they fought to get a well earned win in the end. Arsenal trashed the Bulgarian side 6-0 at the Emirates two weeks ago but there was no repeat as the gritty Bulgarians battled on to the dying seconds.

Arsenal now have the luxury of resting players for their remaining games against PSG and Basel, it remains to be seen what will happen though with several important league games to be played in the coming weeks.
