Everton keen on Schweinsteiger
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is prepared to finance a loan agreement for Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German has yet to kick the ball for the Old Trafford side this season.
The former German international has recently turned to first-team training with the view to earning a fresh club in the winter transfer window.
According to sources, the Toffees are willing to seal a temporary deal for the World Cup winner with the future of James McCarthy hanging in the balance.
McCarthy has had his fitness issues since the start of the campaign, and Koeman could cash in on his services with Celtic and Crystal Palace being among his admirers.
The Dutchman has preferred Idrissa Gueye and Gareth Barry in the centre of the park this term, and the signing of Schweinsteiger would provide a solid back-up in case either gets injured or suspended.
