La Liga giants on Martial alert

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona could reportedly go head-to-head for the services of Manchester United striker Anthony Martial. The France international has largely struggled to cement a regular role under Jose Mourinho this season.

According to The Sun, the La Liga duo are keeping a close eye on the player's proceedings and could be tempted to make respective bids for his signature in the future.

It is added that Los Blancos would be favourites to land the French attacker with the prospect of James Rodriguez moving to Old Trafford in an exchange deal.

However, the European champions are currently appealing an 18-month imposed transfer ban, and a move will largely be dependent on the final outcome.

Martial, who is valued at around £60m, netted a brace during his side's 4-1 mauling of West Ham United in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
