Atletico, Chelsea chase Faouzi Ghoulam

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have joined Chelsea in the pursuit of Napoli full-back Faouzi Ghoulam. The Algeria international has been a regular for the Naples outfit in recent seasons.

According to Calciomercato, the Blues will have have an easy path to the 25-year-old following Atleti's decision to step up their interest in the player.

Ghoulam, who will be off for the African Cup of Nations in January, has been identified as potential competitor for Marcos Alonso for the left wing-back position at Stamford Bridge.

On the other hand, Atleti are looking to add more options to their backline with manager Diego Simeone prepared to rotate his defenders in the second half of the campaign.

Ghoulam joined the Serie A outfit from Saint-Etienne in 2014, and has since racked over 100 appearances in all competitions.
