Everton in talks for Schneiderlin
Everton have reportedly began negotiations with Manchester United over a potential deal for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
The France international has been neglected by Jose Mourinho for much of the season with the likes of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini ahead of him in the pecking order.
According to The Sun, the Toffees have opened up discussions with the Red Devils as they seek to conclude on a fee for the player's transfer in January.
The 26-year-old was a key performer under Ronald Koeman at Southampton, and the Dutchman is keen on integrating the player into his new-look Toffees side.
Veteran star Gareth Barry is approaching the final six months of his Everton contract, and it is believed that Koeman is looking into the future with Schneiderlin tipped to occupy the central midfield role.
Schneiderlin has earned just 11 minutes of league football since Mourinho's arrival in the summer.
