Abramovich to block Diego Costa exit
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will reportedly block any deal which would see Diego Costa move to China in the transfer window. The Blues have already lost Oscar and Mikel John Obi to the Chinese Super League this month.
Costa, 28, has been strongly linked with a move to Tianjin Quanjian after his agent Jorge Mendes was spotted holding discussions with chairman Shu Yuhui.
According to The Mirror, Abramovich is reluctant to lose his key striker to the Asian big spenders as it would affect the Premier League as a whole.
China have been making the moves this month with several high-profile players including Oscar, Carlos Tevez, and Axel Witsel inking bumper deals in the Far East.
Brazilian-born Costa is also said to be eyeing a big-money deal in Asia, but Abramovich is unlikely to permit the player departure in near future.
Costa has already netted 14 goals in the top flight this season, and his influence will be crucial in the key games where the club would require a potent goalscorer.
