Ivanovic Set for Zenit St. Petersburg
Branislav Ivanovic is all set to leave Chelsea on deadline day in favor of a move to Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia.
Although Ivanovic was an integral part of the side that won the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho, he has fallen out of favor under Antonio Conte; with the Italian preferring Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso over the experienced Serbian.
After featuring in only 16 games in all competitions for Chelsea this season, Ivanovic has understandably grown frustrated at the club; and has been seeking a new club for some time now.
And now, Zenit are all set to offer him an escape route from Chelsea, after already having agreed a deal with the club. Ivanovic only has to agree personal terms before he can complete the switch.
Ivanovic is all set to leave Chelsea as one of the club’s most decorated players, having won 7 trophies in an 8 year spell at the club.
