100 Not Out: Walcott Scores His Century

Theo Walcott news

Walcott scored his 100th Arsenal goal last night

Theo Walcott became the eighteenth player to score 100 Arsenal goals last night, as he tapped home from close range in The Gunners' 2-0 FA Cup Fifth Round tie against Sutton United.

The non-league side performed brilliantly, coming close on several occasions, but in the end, Walcott and co. had enough to overcome the side that sit over 100 place below them in the football ladder.

It has taken Walcott 370 games to reach the milestone, but it is still a great achievement, for the player who joined the club from Southampton aged just 17. To this day, it is a common debate as to where exactly Walcott's best playing position is, with some believing he is more effective on the right wing, as opposed to as a central striker.

The England international scored his first Arsenal goal in the 2007 League Cup Final against Chelsea. To date, his most prolific goalscoring season was the 2012-13 campaign, where he netted 21 goals in all competitions, although with 15 to his name already this season, he may feel that he can better that, with plenty of games still to come.
