Arsenal Interested In Napoli Duo

Lorenzo Insigne news

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the Napoli pair

Arsenal have sent scouts to Italy to watch Napoli duo Lorenzo Insigne and Faouzi Ghoulam, with a view to signing the pair in the summer, in an attempt to strengthen their squad and once again challenge in the Premier League.

Both were in action in Napoli's recent 2-0 defeat to Atalanta, and Italian media says that Arsenal scouts were seen in the crowd, assessing the ability of their latest targets.

Insigne is said to be the Gunner's number one target in the upcoming transfer market, with the highly rated 25 year old supplying nine goals and six assists for Napoli this season. The attacking midfielder, who can also play up front, has qualities that would see him fit in well in the Premier League, although Napoli are reluctant to see him go. Insigne is contracted until 2019, with the club looking for a fee in the region of £44 million to consider letting him leave.

The North London club are also interested in Faouzi Ghoulam, who could be a possible replacement for Nacho Monreal in the left back role. Ghoulam is currently stumbling with a new contract deal with Napoli, which will put Arsenal on high alert. It will not be a straight forward deal however, with Chelsea also said to be interested in acquiring the Algerian international.
