Wayne Rooney to snub West Ham for this club
Manchester City skipper Wayne Rooney will reportedly turn down advances from West Ham United for a reunion with boyhood club Everton in the summer.
The England international is truly out of the mix under Jose Mourinho, and this has in hand affected his place with the national team.
Rooney, 31, has received plenty of offers from the Chinese Super League over the past month, but it is understood that he would prefer to remain in England for at least a couple more seasons.
The Mirror claims that the veteran striker could be released on a free this summer with United willing to pay off his contract for his contribution to the club over the years.
The Hammers' bosses had recently hinted that they could make their move for Rooney in the summer, but the striker is set to disappoint the club by pushing for a move back to Goodison Park.
Rooney is currently United's all-time goalscorer with 250 goals after he surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton's feat via a brilliant free-kick to clinch a 1-1 draw at Stoke earlier in the year.
